Our policy is to fairly divide airplay at reasonable levels for free to as many artists and labels as we can. However,
providing programming 24/7 to numerous broadcast stations requires expensive broadcast quality equipment and a
lot of labour Running streamed web casts costs a small fortune in bandwidth. We are always looking for ways to
offset this cost in such a way that it does not affect the actual musicians. This service is designed primarily for
small to large labels.
All new music added to our network on the 30th of each month gets a "blast" of VHR (Very high rotation) airplay which
means approximately 15 times the regular airplay each week. After this it drops off to ACR (Annual Current Rotation,
approximately 2 plays a week) and finally at the end of the current year to PCR (Previous Current Rotation, approximately
1 play a week and it is made available for deletion review as play list catalogue expands.
Guaranteed airplay (or GSR rotation) allows you to purchase VHR Rotation on a month by month basis for an individual song
after its first for-free 30 day VHR run. This means that it will remain at the high level of rotation and not drop to ACR (or
even PCR if you wish to continue promoting it beyond 12 months).
We reserve a limited number of GSR rotation spaces in our master play lists to generate revenue, whilst balancing out the
need to provide free airplay to other artists.
We look upon GSR spots as Advertising spots, that is we are paid to promote a product within the context of our radio
output which is necessary to radio. We use broadcast quality audio files from computer for pre-produced shows and
Internet radio live. To comply with Australian and American broadcasting regulations in pre-production we have to add the
statement "This is a paid Advertisement" to the start of the audio file. We extend this and include the name of the song
and your web site address (e.g. "This is a paid advertisement for BAND check them out at www.band.com) - so this actually
works in your favour!
