There's lots of traditional ways for independent musicians to get their music heard on Australian Radio, but I'm going to let you in
on the depressing truth! If you send a CD to a radio station in the mail, unless you have a label backing and promoting you it has
almost a 100 % chance of ending up in their bin. If your music has not been proven in another radio market all the label pushing in
the world will not get it onto the air. You could cold call the station and if your very, very lucky the music director might have the
time to speak to you in the foyer, but 9 times out of 10 that's as far as you'll get.
Promoting your music to radio effectively is a specialised profession, just as you need an accountant to do your accounting, a
lawyer to argue your contracts - you need industry professionals to properly negotiate radio airplay for you.
We know the right stations and the right people to give your music the best chance of getting the widest possible additional
airplay. We provide information and free distribution packages to Australian radio stations. We ask radio stations to complete
feedback forms and let us know what they've added so we can pass on the good news to you! Music directors look to us as a
source of great new talent for immediate radio airplay. A great many CD's sent on their own to radio stations are ignored (unless
they come from a regular supplier such as a large record label), the large packets of new material we send will always be opened
and always noticed!
We keep the costs to you as reasonable as possible. For a flat fee per CD we can distribute your music. There is no minimum
number of CD's but we place a maximum ceiling of 1000 CD's per each individual release. If you do the mathematics on postage
you'll also realise that to send us say a box of 100 CD's from overseas will work out a lot cheaper than individually mailing 100 CD's
to 100 separate locations from overseas to Australia.
Once we've placed your material we'll e-mail you an advice stating the names, locations, frequencies, formats and currently
reported potential audience of each placement; if your material is dance or urban oriented also the names and club locations of
club DJ's we've distributed it to.
Naturally we have no control over what gets picked up by other radio services, but lets face it we're in the business and you've
got a lot better chance distributing through us!
