ton above. This is necessary as you are making major changes to the Robot folders architecture and Robot needs to re-organize the FAT tables. Whilst the update is in progress you will see "Updating FAT's" in the left part of the status bar and you will be locked out. When the update is completed a popup box will tell you the folder has been re-assigned.

The "
Maintain to the Hour Advertising" box is explained in the chapter on the advertising screen. It is placed here due to space restrictions on the advertising screen

Quick Record Box

The quick Record box is a quick means of recording quick WAV files from your sound card line in. It will not however work with all soundcards, in which case you will need to use audacity (as detailed in chapter 2) or another waveform editing program externally. It is mainly useful for recording daily's (egg. news and weather) as it has very limited editing functions. You will need either a microphone that plugs into your computers MIC input on your computers sound card (not highly recommended as the sound quality is usually terrible) or an audio mixer with a microphone that is patched into the LINE input on your computers sound card. Most small audio mixers have a "line-out" on the back. You need a cable that plugs into one of these (most often RCA or "donut" connectors) and then into your sound card (most often a

"mini-jack"). Such cables and mixers can be obtained from Dick Smith and Tandy electronics.

To start recording click the "Record" button. To stop recording click the "STOP" button. To hear the recorded audio click the "PLAY" button. You can stop the play back by clicking the "stop" button or let it play its full length and stop automatically.

When you are happy with the recorded audio type a filename for it into the "filename" box.

Select the robot folder you wish the audio to be imported into then click either the "import" button or the up arrow. The recorded file is a WAV file.

The progress bar under the Robot folders contents box will show you the import progress.

You will need to click the "Update" button to inform Robot of the new file you have imported.
