Using the drop down menu         select "8". This means  every 8 hours Robot will be
automatically re-started by the loader. On a modern fast machine the delay caused by re-starting is nominal (usually less than 2-4 seconds).
3)
Midnight Re-booting. It is important that your PC is restarted regularly to refresh the memory that windows consumes. This can be done automatically for you each day by setting the loader to re-boot the PC at midnight every day. The shortcut you made previously in the startup menu will ensure that the loader (and hence Robot) also re-starts when the computer re-starts.

  1. Play on Start. For the moment we will leave this option un-ticked. Normally this will be ticked. This option instructs Robot to start playing when the program starts so that you do not have to manually click the "Play" button (explained later). Other wise the program will be re-started by the loader but remain silent.
  2. CPU Usage. Under normal circumstances you will want to see what the main robot program is doing ("NORM" CPU Mode) , particularly if you are working with it for on-air assist. However, if you are using it remotely it is advisable to run Robot in "Low" CPU usage mode. This keeps the main program minimized and uses a lot less CPU power.

Please minimize the Loader mini-screen and Restore the Main Robot module.

To start Robot select Start > All Programs > Robot > START - Local.
You will notice the loader opens in a minimized state above the task bar (left hand corner). On the Loaders menu bar click the Restore icon and the loader window will popup. (By this stage you should also have noticed that the main robot module has also opened automatically, minimize this for the moment).

The loader resides in the memory at all times and monitors the Robot program, if for any reason there is a problem with windows the loader will re-start Robot ensuring a minimum of dead air or silence to your radio listeners.

Setting the Loader Options

  1. Check the time. If the time displayed on the loader mini-screen in large numbers is incorrect then please double click the time on the task bar (bottom right hand corner) and set the date and time correctly. Robot relies on the windows settings for the time and date so it is important that they are correctly set.
  2. Hourly Refresh. Windows (all versions) does not properly release the memory it fills whilst running programs, playing audio etc. In order to ensure continuous operation of Robot it is necessary for the program to be re-started periodically to force windows to allocate it fresh memory.
