Robot gives you the ability to make the various different items sound louder or quieter. This is achieved by setting fader levels for each item over the 24 available day parts. AD's can for example be set high and SONG's low so that your advertising stands out late at night. Although your output usually runs through a compressor, the overdrive will make the item sound louder, whilst maintaining the same flat level at the end of your audio chain to the transmitter. This is yet another way you can use Robot to shape the individual sound of your station.

You select the day part you wish to shape with the drop down selector at the screen bottom.

You select the day you wish to shape with the drop down selector at the screen bottom.

The faders work off the Fade Top Level (covered below), thus 0 equates to that level, above zero greater than that, below zero less than that. A setting of 0 here is the top level (i.e. Default 1000), moving the fader above this level will overdrive the item, moving it below will dampen it.

These settings will only be applied when a format item has been saved with a flat presence level (eg. the default or 0 db). Where you have tweaked the presence level at the point of formatting (covered on the format screen in previous chapters) this setting will have no effect.

The "Scheduler" level however directly controls the output level of any items scheduled on the Scheduler screen.
