LOGGING

Robot logs every single piece of audio played to a simple text file. This file is called ROBOT2002.LOG and is located in the logs folder of the Robot folder. It can be simply opened with notepad, word pad or word. Log entries are saved in the form:

Date
Time Played
Unique Reference ID
Tidy name of the audio item
The Untidy name of the audio item (the exact filename including path to the audio)
The length of the audio actually played after any snapped were applied
The type of item the audio is (e.g. SONG, AD, ID etc.)

All the details are written in one line separated by commas.

An example entry would be:

01-24-2006,17:38:05,159,Blacktop-Stephen Lomas,C:\ROBOT\SONGS\Blacktop-Stephen Lomas.mp3,05:23,SONG

THESE PROCESSES CAN ONLY BE CARRIED OUT WHILE ROBOT IS CLOSED

You can clear the log at any time by simply opening it in Notepad, use edit > select all> then hit the Delete key, then file save. This will save a  clear log file over the present one.

You can also reset the unique reference ID starting point at anytime by changing the number in the file
event.

LIVE REPORTING

Robot writes its current activity to a simple text file in real time which can be accessed for reporting the current song on air to a website or an RDS / RDBS encoder. The output is a single field to the file
ROBOT2002.RDS in the Logs folder. The file is cleared and a unique field is outputted every time a new item starts playing in the primary channel. The field is outputted in the form:

Song Name Artist Name - ON AIR: Jock Name(Show Name) COMING UP: Jock Name

An example output would be:

Blacktop-Stephen Lomas -  ON AIR: Joe Peters (Big Wheels Drive Show)  COMING UP: Mary Smith

The software or drivers required to then get this information from the ROBOT2002.RDS file to your website or RDS encoder are not included with Robot, primarily as they are very dependant upon what you are trying to achieve and the equipment you are using. If you do not have software or drivers to read this simple text file Robot creates (often included with your hardware or as part of your web design), please contact us for a quote to custom make the appropriate software or drivers for you.
